Music Education Program Coordinator

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Music Education Program Coordinator


    The successful candidate will be responsible for logistics (managing locations and resources), development of workshop programming and scheduling sessions and registration.


    Workshops may be delivered to a wide variety of ages (from primary school through to seniors) in a number of areas across the city of Kingston. 


    This will include developing and implementing workshop plans, managing and co-ordinating instructors and collaborating with partners.

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Develop workshop and instructional programming for a wide range of age groups Assist in securing facilities and manage workshop logistics in various locations across the city of Kingston

    •  Respond to requests for information about workshops

    • Collaborate with staff to respond to clients and participants

    • Ensure workshop records are kept up-to-date

    • Implement workshop strategy and tactics, identifying specific goals and measurable objectives in collaboration with other team members

    • Create evaluation methods and implement surveys to measure workshop outcomes with clients and participants

    • Review, monitor, and update the website as needed

    Other Duties


    • Attend weekly in-person meetings in Kingston and meetings with partners, community events and workshops, which may occur throughout the week or on weekend. 

    • Work with Board members from diverse backgrounds with varied experience who provide mentorship

  • Requirements


    • Enrolled in or graduated from a post-secondary program specializing in education or music 

    • Or: minimum of 2 years direct experience working in group education programs

    •  Working (instructional) knowledge of a variety of different musical instruments

    • Excellent communication skills

  • Timeframe, Compensation and Benefits
    • 4 month contract for 20 hours per week with potential for extension and expansion based on program growth – salary commensurate with experience.

    • Reimbursement for approved expenses or mileage

    • Hybrid work environment with core collaboration hours and the ability to customize your working hours

    • Remote work using Google Workspace
